Coalition again urges Congress to make “robust” investment in science

Washington, DC—The Task Force on American Innovation (TFAI), a coalition of businesses, trade groups, scientific and engineering societies, and university organizations, today issued the following statement concerning sequestration-level budget caps:

“The Task Force on American Innovation is encouraged by the signs of continued momentum toward a bipartisan, bicameral compromise that raises the harmful sequestration-level budget caps. Our country’s global competitiveness is being challenged as our competitors make significant investments in innovation. To enable the U.S. to make critical R&D investments and enhance our global leadership position, Congress must cement a budget agreement that provides relief from the current budget caps, and make robust science investments a priority in final FY 2018 appropriations.”
